Dr Adam Friedmann: Founder and clinical leader of the HSDC, Dr Friedmann has more than a decade of experience at the consultant level. He has particular expertise in melanoma and other forms of skin cancer. He practices both adult and children’s dermatology.

Dr Victoria Akhras: Dr Akhras has many years of experience as a consultant dermatologist. She is an expert on skin cancer and was awarded an MD for her research on melanoma. Another speciality is the treatment of warts and alopecia areata (hair loss) using diphencyprone. She treats both adults and children.

Dr Friedmann is a UK-trained Dermatologist who trained at King's College School of Medicine, London. He has worked at many of London's teaching hospitals including King's College, St Georges, Hammersmith, Barts and the London and the Royal Free Hospitals.

With more than a decade's experience in the field, Dr Friedmann has conducted and published research on skin cancer at the Melanoma Institute in Sydney, Australia and has been a consultant since 2008.

His former NHS post was as a Consultant dermatologist at The Whittington Hospital in North London and until recently, he was the Dermatology Teaching Lead for University College London medical students for which he was a multiple 'Top-Teacher' award winner.

Dr Friedmann consults on all general dermatology in both adults and children, and will treat conditions such as acne, eczema, allergy and psoriasis. His special interests include emergency dermatology, skin cancer, moles and blistering conditions.

Dr Victoria Akhras is a UK-trained consultant dermatologist. As well as having expertise in general dermatology, she is the lead clinician in one of the largest skin cancer screening and treatment centres in the UK. Dr Akhras is actively involved in dermatological research and has set up the Skin Tumour Tissue Research Centre at St George's Hospital, where her NHS practise is based.

Dr Akhras studied Medicine at Imperial College London and graduated in 2000 with honours. She has trained in a number of teaching hospitals in London including Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Barts and The London NHS Trust, Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust and Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Awarded a travelling fellowship, Dr Akhras has spent time at the Sydney Melanoma Unit in Australia. In 2010, she completed a research project looking at lymphatic function and its role in the spread of melanoma, for which she was awarded an MD.

Dr Akhras consults on all general dermatology in both adults and children, and will treat conditions such as acne, eczema, allergy and psoriasis. In addition, she runs a specialised diphencyprone clinic for the treatment of viral warts and alopecia areata.

Dr Natalie Attard is a UK-trained dermatologist. She studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh where she was also awarded a 1st class honours degree in physiology. She has over 10 years dermatology experience based at many of London’s teaching Hospitals including The Royal London, The Royal Free and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Dr Attard is an NHS Consultant Dermatologist at the internationally renowned St John’s Institute of Dermatology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital where she is Lead for the skin cancer screening service. As well as skin cancer, her other areas of special interest are medical dermatology and dermatology education.

During her postgraduate training in dermatology, Dr Attard was awarded a Research Fellowship with Cancer Research UK. Her studies concerned the role of immunosuppressant drugs in the hugely elevated incidence of skin cancer in organ transplant recipients.

Dr Attard consults on all aspects of skin disease including acne and rosacea, infections, eczema, psoriasis, mole checks and other skin lesions.

Dr Marie-Louise Daly

Dr Daly studied medicine and completed postgraduate research at the University of Cambridge. She has worked at many teaching hospitals including Addenbrooke’s, King’s College and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ and has recently published a Dermatology handbook for trainee doctors and GPs.

During her specialist training she won the prestigious St. John’s Society Registrar prize and was a co-investigator in clinical research trials at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ hospital. Dr Daly has published numerous scientific papers, editorials and review articles and continues to carry out clinical research with a particular interest in dermatomyositis.

As well as being a Consultant Dermatologist with us at Canterbury Skin and Laser, Dr Daly practices at our partner clinic The Harley Street Dermatology Clinic. Dr Daly also holds a Consultant post at the NHS Lewisham and Greenwich Trust in South London where she was previously Lead Clinician and the head of teaching for undergraduate medical students.

Dr Daly consults on all aspects of skin disease in both adults and children and can perform surgical procedures. She can treat conditions such as acne, eczema, allergy, psoriasis, rosacea, stubborn warts and verrucae, emergency dermatology, and skin cancer. Her special interests include acne and rosacea, skin infections, emergency dermatology, connective tissue disease/dermatomyositis, skin cancer, moles and the use of biologics in psoriasis.
