The Harley Street Dermatology Clinic was founded by Dr Adam Friedmann MBBS, FRCP with the aim of establishing the clinic as a leading service provider in the field of private dermatology in London.

In 2018, the Harley Street Dermatology Clinic joined The Dermatology Partnership as one of three founding clinics. The aim of the partnership is to build the UK’s leading dermatology group, defined by its clinical excellence and focus on leading dermatological care. Since its formation, there are now seven clinics in the Dermatology Partnership, consisting of over 40 doctors. Dr Adam Friedmann is the Clinical Director of the Dermatology Partnership.

Dr Adam Friedmann

Consultant Dermatologist & Clinical Lead

Dr Friedmann is a UK-trained Dermatologist who trained at King's College School of Medicine, London. He has worked at many of London's teaching hospitals including King's College, St Georges, Hammersmith, Barts and the London and the Royal Free Hospitals.

With more than a decade's experience in the field, Dr Friedmann has conducted and published research on skin cancer at the Melanoma Institute in Sydney, Australia and has been a consultant since 2008.

His former NHS post was as a Consultant dermatologist at The Whittington Hospital in North London and until recently, he was the Dermatology Teaching Lead for University College London medical students for which he was a multiple 'Top-Teacher' award winner.

Dr Friedmann consults on all general dermatology in both adults and children, and will treat conditions such as acne, eczema, allergy and psoriasis. His special interests include emergency dermatology, skin cancer, moles and blistering conditions.

Dr Victoria Akhras is a UK-trained consultant dermatologist. As well as having expertise in general dermatology, she is the lead clinician in one of the largest skin cancer screening and treatment centres in the UK. Dr Akhras is actively involved in dermatological research and has set up the Skin Tumour Tissue Research Centre at St George's Hospital, where her NHS practise is based.

Dr Akhras studied Medicine at Imperial College London and graduated in 2000 with honours. She has trained in a number of teaching hospitals in London including Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Barts and The London NHS Trust, Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust and Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Awarded a travelling fellowship, Dr Akhras has spent time at the Sydney Melanoma Unit in Australia. In 2010, she completed a research project looking at lymphatic function and its role in the spread of melanoma, for which she was awarded an MD.

Dr Akhras consults on all general dermatology in both adults and children, and will treat conditions such as acne, eczema, allergy and psoriasis. In addition, she runs a specialised diphencyprone clinic for the treatment of viral warts and alopecia areata.

Dr Aleksandar Godic

Consultant Dermatologist

Dr Aleksandar Godic, MD, PhD is consultant dermatologist based in London, UK. He graduated in 1996 from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He finished his Master of Science in 1997 and training in dermatovenereology in 2001. In 2004 he finished his PhD (Thesis: Molecular and Genetic Analysis of Darier Disease in Slovenian Population, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia).

He spent a year of postdoctoral fellowship in dermatopathology in the USA (UCSF). He had additional training in dermatology at the Department of Dermatology, Yale University, USA (2005 and 2006), and holds the European Board Certificate in Dermatopathology (2006). In 2005 he was appointed as an Assistant Professor for Dermatovenereology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

In 2014 he became a Board member of the World Council for Preventive, Regenerative and Anti-Aging Medicine (WOCPM). He is also an Editor of the Acta Dermatovenerologica Alpina, Panonica et Adriatica and Associate Editor of Clinical and Experimental Dermatology. He has numerous publications in high impact factor journals.

His special interests include general dermatology, skin surgery, and all aspects of aesthetic dermatology. His is passionate about stem cell treatment in aesthetic medicine, which is also his main research interest.

Dr Godic is a winner of the Top Doctors 2021 Award, which recognises the UK’s highest-level specialists, based on their training, qualifications, skill, and care. This is achieved through our rigorous selection process, and peer-to-peer nominations. Dr Godic was the only UK Dermatologist to be recognised for this prestigious award.

Dr Marie-Louise Daly

Dr Daly studied medicine and completed postgraduate research at the University of Cambridge and has worked at a number of Cambridge and London teaching hospitals (King’s College and Guy’s and St. Thomas’). Dr Daly has published numerous scientific papers, a Dermatology textbook and has presented at national and international conferences and continues to carry out clinical research. As a Consultant post holder at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Dr Daly has taken on roles in Departmental Management and Medical Education and is the lead for treating complex inflammatory skin disease in the Biologics clinic. Dr Daly enjoys building a rapport with patients, consults on all aspects of skin disease and can perform surgical procedures; in particular she can help with conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, skin infections as well as moles and skin cancers.

Dr Ravinder Atkar

Dr Ravinder Atkar MBBS, BSc (Hons), MRCP (Derm), is a UK-trained Consultant Dermatologist working at Barts Health NHS Trusts, consulting on all aspects of skin disease, leading the paediatric dermatology and contact dermatitis services.

She ranked in the top 5% for her medical degree, achieved First Class Honours for her BSc, and then went on to complete her Dermatology training at Cambridge University Hospitals. Following this, she undertook an Observership in paediatric dermatology at Stanford University Hospitals, San Francisco.

Dr Atkar is actively involved in research, with 3 national awards and over 14 publications in high impact medical journals and co-authoring the national guidelines for vitiligo. She is an editor of a textbook, and is currently working towards her Diploma in Aesthetics.

She has tutored medical students at Cambridge University, and continues to pursue her passion for medical education. She values her role as a spokesperson for the British Skin Foundation.

She consults on all aspects of skin disease in adults and children, including eczema, acne, rosacea, psoriasis, mole checks and skin cancer. She can perform skin surgery, consult on cosmetic dermatology and skincare issues.

She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, Royal Society of Medicine, British Association of Dermatologists and British Society for Paediatric Dermatology

Dr Laura Proudfoot

Dr Laura Proudfoot is a UK and US-trained consultant dermatologist. She studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh where she was also awarded an honours degree in Psychology. She undertook specialist dermatology training at the internationally renowned St John's Institute of Dermatology, London. This included 3 years of research characterising inflammation in epidermolysis bullosa, a genetically inherited blistering disease, which culminated in the award of a PhD degree in Genetics and Molecular Medicine.

She has published extensively in the dermatology and cutaneous pathology literature and has presented nationally and internationally at dermatology and scientific meetings.

Dr Proudfoot was then selected for a prestigious fellowship in paediatric dermatology at the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern University, the largest paediatric dermatology service in the US, gaining expertise in the diagnosis and management of skin disease in children.

Alongside her private work at the Harley Street Dermatology Clinic, Dr Proudfoot is a substantive consultant dermatologist and paediatric dermatologist at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Proudfoot is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Society of Paediatric Dermatology, the Society for Pediatric Dermatology and the Royal Society of Medicine. She consults on all general dermatology in both adults and children including eczema, acne, psoriasis, alopecia, vascular lesions, birthmarks and mole checks and performs intralesional steroid injections. She has specialist expertise in skin disease affecting babies, children and teenagers.

Dr Gulati is a UK-trained consultant dermatologist. She studied medicine at University College London where she was also awarded a first-class honours degree in Physiology and Pharmacology. She has been practising dermatology since 2003 which has included training at a number of London’s teaching hospitals including Bart’s Health, Hammersmith & Ealing, Chelsea & Westminster and University College Hospitals.

Her dermatology training included a PhD study at QMUL exploring the early changes in skin cancer development and impact of common treatments. She has also held the prestigious post of National Institute of Health Research (NIHR)-funded Academic Clinical Lecturer at QMUL during which she explored ways of improving education and early recognition of skin cancers.

She is currently the lead clinician for skin cancer services and dermatology teaching lead at Homerton University Hospital. She is an active member of the British Association of Dermatologists Skin Cancer Prevention Committee and British Society for Skin Care of Immunocompromised Individuals (BSSCII). She is also a MRCP examiner.

She also has over 10 years of experience in all aspects of general dermatology in adults and children and consults on all aspects of skin disease including acne, skin cancer, eczema, psoriasis and allergy.

Dr Lee is a fully qualified, UK trained (CCST) dermatologist. He studied and obtained his Master of Science in Clinical Dermatology in 2005, under King’s College London, at the prestigious St John’s Institute of Dermatology. His graduation thesis was on “Lasers in Dermatology”.

In 2008, he was appointed as the teaching fellow for Queen Mary University of London. He was one of the many teachers responsible for educating aspiring doctors from different parts of the world (including Australia, Africa, New York and Hong Kong) who studied for the postgraduate diploma in clinical dermatology. He was an examiner for the undergraduate final year medical students, as well as given clinical teaching and lectures, in particular, acne and eczema.

Dr Alvin Lee was trained in Wessex, worked most closely with the University Hospital Southampton, a tertiary referral centre for dermatology in the region. Apart from general dermatology, he received in-depth and extensive training in advance cutaneous surgery, dermatopathology, atopic eczema, psoriasis, cutaneous lymphoma and paediatric dermatology. He has given numerous local, and national presentations and his research interest was in “Microwave & cryotherapy induced histological, immunological & cytotoxic changes in human skin” and “Squamous cell carcinoma of the pinna: which histological features could be used to predict prognosis?”

He has worked as a consultant dermatologist in many secondary and tertiary dermatology referral centres and is currently working as a Substantive Consultant Dermatologist at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists, International Society of Dermatopathology, British Society of Dermatopathology, Royal College of Physicians, British Medical Association and regional Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. His academic and working experience allows him to provide a world class, high quality patient-centred and tailored approach to a diversity of patients.

Dr Sanjay Rajpara | Harley Street Dermatology Clinic

Dr. Rajpara qualified in India and after gaining a degree in Dermatology & Venereology he undertook further training in the UK. This included training and experience in general medicine and dermasurgery (including Mohs surgery and Lasers) in England and in dermatology in Scotland. His current post is a consultant dermatologist and derm (Mohs) surgeon at Kings College Hospital.

He offers consultation on all dermatological problems including acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancers, mole checks and hyperhidrosis.

Actively involved in clinical research and teaching, Dr Rajpara has given over 50 national and international presentations and invited talks and has published more than 20 articles. He has been on channel 4 body shockers programme and has been a faculty for British Medical Laser Association and for Laser and Aesthetics Europe.

He has been involved in updating SIGN melanoma guidelines and also was in Scottish Cosmetic Interventions Group- High Quality care subgroup (HQC SCIEG) for guidelines for regulations of non-surgical cosmetic treatments in the Scotland. He is external examiner for MSc Non-Surgical Facial Aesthetics (NSFA) for University of central Lancashire, UK and faculty for University of Manchester anti-ageing course.

Dr Dhoat is a U.K.-trained Consultant Dermatologist with over 15 years of experience in the field, 11 of which as a substantive NHS Dermatology Consultant and Paediatric Dermatologist. She was initially appointed at The Royal Free Hospital and currently works at the world-renowned Bart’s and The London Hospitals; the second largest paediatric unit in London.

Dr Dhoat has extensive and broad experience in all aspects of the speciality and consults on acne, rosacea, eczema, other skin rashes, psoriasis, hyperhidrosis, (excessive sweating), melasma, genital dermatoses, pigmented lesions, intralesional steroids for keloid scars or inflamed cysts, TCA for xanthalasma and skin allergies. Her special interests include paediatric dermatology, emergency dermatology, skin cancer and moles.

She studied medicine at St George’s Hospital and graduated in 2000, with honours in physiology, clinical medicine and neurology. She obtained a first-class degree from Imperial College for her B.Sc. in clinical and biological sciences and was awarded the E Woodford Williams Prize for best scientific paper. She has attained numerous awards and prizes during her career in Dermatology, including the esteemed Hugh Wallace prize at The Royal Society of Medicine three years running and the Bristol Cup Paediatric Prize from the British Association of Dermatologists. She has been voted best clinical tutor award by medical students three times across London, at University College London, Bart’s and The London NHS Trust and King’s College Hospital and is a final year and MRCP examiner. She was nominated to become a Fellow of the prestigious Royal College of Physicians and was invested FRCP in 2015.

Dr Dhoat was involved in research at The Royal Free Hospital on cutaneous manifestations for FOS, a worldwide outcomes database established to study the natural history of Fabry's disease and to examine the effects of enzyme replacement therapy.

Dr Dhoat is passionate about sharing information in an effective, inclusive, empathic, clear, open and supportive manner to patients, relatives and carers, and enhances patient understanding with the provision of appropriate information sheets/booklets, website links, gives advice regarding patient support groups and has advanced training in communication.

Dr Chinthapalli is a Consultant Dermatologist who works as an NHS Consultant at Royal London Hospital, one of the largest NHS trusts in the country. She consults on all areas of General Dermatology, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, mole checks, rosacea, rashes, as well as Skin Cancer and performs Skin Surgery.

She graduated from Imperial College London School of Medicine with Merits. She has completed her entire postgraduate training in central London teaching hospitals including Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery (NHNN, Queen Square), Royal Brompton Hospital, Royal Free Hospital and Royal London Hospital. She has undertaken training internationally in Europe and the USA.

She has been awarded national prizes and scholarships for her work in Dermatology and has presented her research internationally and nationally. She was awarded First Class Honours for her BSc from Imperial College London. Dr Coelho is a UK trained Consultant Dermatologist. He graduated from the University of Cambridge (BA Medical Sciences - Part II Neuroscience) and St. George’s, University of London (MBBS).

He consults on all areas of General Dermatology, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, mole checks, rosacea, rashes, as well as Skin Cancer and performs Skin Surgery.
Dr Coelho trained in Dermatology at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital before working as a Consultant at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton and St. George’s Hospital London. He currently works as an NHS Consultant at St. Helier Hospital.

He has presented at national meetings and was a winner of two prizes from the Royal Society of Medicine as a Dermatology Registrar. He is one of the section authors of the British Association of Dermatologists’ guidelines for the investigation and management of generalized pruritus in adults without an underlying dermatosis, 2018.

He is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) and the Royal Society of Medicine.

Dr Eugene Ong

Dr Eugene Ong is a UK-trained dermatologist and European board certified skin pathologist who works as an NHS consultant at St George's Hospital, London. He consults on all aspects of dermatology, including general dermatology and skin surgery. His special interests include male genital dermatology, moles, acne, psoriasis, eczema and skin cancer.

He graduated from Oxford University with an MB ChB and BA in Medical Sciences, and trained at Chelsea Westminster and University College London hospitals, and St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne. He undertook a two year fellowship in skin pathology at St John's Institute of Dermatology, and was elected British Society of Dermatopathology trainee representative and BAD dermatology co-trainee representative.

He sits on the editorial advisory board for the CED journal, and has published 18 peer-reviewed articles for high impact journals like the JAAD and has appeared on BBC News and Radio for his work. He is a lecturer and founder of the BAD "Dermatopathology Made Easy" course. He has won a number of national awards, including the LD Path Dermatopathology Cup first prize at the BAD national conference and for his teaching.

Meena Arunachalam - Expert Dermatology Clinic in London | The Harley Street Dermatology Clinic

Dr Meena Arunachalam

Dr. Meena Arunachalam is a substantive NHS consultant dermatologist at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead. She is internationally trained in the USA, UK (Oxford), Italy (Florence), and France.

As a result, she is double-board certified in both the EU and the UK. She has presented her research on vitiligo internationally at both the American Academy of Dermatology Resident’s Symposium and at the European Pigment Cell Conference. Whilst in the UK, she has worked as a consultant in key London teaching hospitals including the Royal London and UCLH. She consults on all areas of general dermatology and venerology in adults, including acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, mole checks, skin cancer, and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

Her special interests include dermoscopy, (which allows for the early detection of skin cancer), and was part of the UK team which ranked 2nd out of 51 countries in the recent world dermoscopy bowl. Her other interests include medical dermatology, vitiligo, mycology, and skin surgery. Lastly, she has published more than 50 articles with an impact factor of above 100.

Dr Fiona Worsnop

Dr Fiona Worsnop BMedSci (Hons), MBBS, MRCP (UK), MRCP (Derm) is a UK-trained Consultant Dermatologist who studied Medicine at the University of Nottingham, where she also completed an intercalated Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree.

She completed her core medical and higher specialist Dermatology training in London and has worked as an NHS Consultant since 2015 in Epsom and Kings College Hospital, where she is lead of the bi-weekly medical dermatology team meeting. Dr Worsnop has visited and taught Dermatologists in Ethiopia and Russia and has also completed Dermatology observerships in Singapore, Sydney & Melbourne.

With an interest in medical education, Dr Worsnop has twice been awarded the Certificate of Commendation for Excellent Teaching by St Georges University of London.

Dr Worsnop has given over 30 national and international presentations, and has twice been awarded national prizes. She has been featured as the Dermatology specialist on ITV’s ‘This Morning’. She is a member of the British Association of Dermatology Therapies and Guidelines sub-committee, one role of which is to produce the BAD’s Patient Information Leaflets. She has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, as listed below.

Dr Worsnop consults on all general dermatology in both adults and children, including eczema, psoriasis, other skin rashes, mole checks, acne and rosacea. Her specialist areas of interest include emergency dermatology, skin cancer, skin surgery and connective tissue disease.

Jonathan Roos cares about looking after people. And doing it to the highest standard as if you were family. He is a Moorfields, Harvard & Cambridge University-trained academic and specialist Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon focusing on eyelid surgery, facial aesthetics, orbital diseases, periocular cancer, lacrimal disorders and cataract surgery.

His research has won multiple national and international awards and he has published in the major medical scientific journals including the Lancet, NEJM and BMJ. Dr Roos is an external Professor for the Pharmaceutical Masters Programme at the Mario Negri Institute in Bergamo with the University of Milan and advises multi-national pharmaceutical companies and national governments on drug pricing and health care in resource poor areas.

He practices at FaceRestoration.com in Harley Street and is licensed in the UK, Sweden (& previously Uganda). Together with Dr Rachna Murthy he teaches surgical and non-surgical aesthetics and filler safety to other doctors in Cambridge – www.aesthetics-course.com – and they also co-own and operate www.FaceRestoration.com. They have developed the Scars-Less (TM) approach to surgery and have also patented a novel antimicrobial agent – Purifeyes – designed to improve safety for aesthetics and general daily exposure. www.purifeyes.co.uk.

Jonathan grew up in Switzerland and Southern France and can consult in English, French, German and Swedish. He is a devoted father to two young men (and a toller) and a supportive husband to a leading city lawyer of Finnish origin. Together they explore seas, sailing and cetaceans.

Bridget Akwa-Otu has extensive experience in Phototherapy (Puva, UVB), Photodynamic therapy (conventional and daylight) Patch testing, dressings, iontophoresis, and as a skin cancer nurse specialist.

She been a clinical dermatology nurse specialist since 2015 at the Whittington Health and joined the Harley Street Dermatology Clinic team in July 2018.

Before this Bridget worked as a dermatology sister and staff nurse since 2009.

Celia is a Registered Dermatology Specialist Nurse, supporting patients with a host of different skin conditions with topical treatments, phototherapy and Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT).

Celia completed her Masters in dermatology skills and treatments in 2017 and is experienced in dermatascopy, skin lesion recognition and minor surgery.

Celia is also able to help patients with hyperhidrosis management through iontophoresis and other treatments; injections for alopecia and keloid scaring; DPC for warts and alopecia; and phlebotomy.

Charlotte Fleming

Dr Charlotte Fleming MBChB, BSc Hons, MRCP is a UK trained dermatologist. She carried out her medical degree at the University of Leeds, graduating in 2007 and obtained a first class honours Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology at Bradford University during her time there.

Dr Fleming's postgraduate training was undertaken across many London teaching hospitals including St Bartholomew's Hospital, The Royal London Hospital and Guy's and St Thomas's Hospital. Her dermatology training was at Cambridge University Hospitals. She joined St George's University Hospital in London in 2018 where she works as a substantive consultant.

Dr Fleming has published articles across many dermatological conditions and presented at national and international conferences. She is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists and British Society for Medical Dermatology.

She consults on all aspects of adult dermatology including psoriasis, eczema, acne, rosacea, allergy, mole checks and skin cancers. She also performs skin surgery.

Theodoros Vernikos

Consultant Dermatologist

Dr. Theodoros Vernikos was born in Greece in 1970, and lives and works in London. Having graduated from the Semmelweis University of Medicine in 1996, Dr. Vernikos then trained for 4 years and gained his specialty in Dermatology Venereology at Greece in 2004.

Dr Vernikos is now recognised as an expert in hair loss diagnosis – treatment and hair transplant surgery. The technique employed by Dr. Vernikos is Follicular Unit Extraction, commonly known as FUE. He has worked for several famous clinics at Harley street at London and also at Manchester and Birmingham. He also works as a Consultant Dermatologist for NHS hospital in England and gained a great experience in Clinical Dermatology and Skin Cancer treatments. He is a member of British Association of Dermatologists and also a member of European Academy of Dermatologists Venereologists. He is GMC fully registered with licence to practice since year 2000.

Luigi Citarella

Consultant Dermatologist

Dr Luigi Citarella is a consultant dermatologist at the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust since 2015 and in the private sector.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery and obtained a postgraduate degree in Dermatology and Sexually Transmitted Diseases at the University of Rome – Tor Vergata, Italy in 2005.

Dr Luigi Citarella also obtained a Master’s Degree in Plastic Dermatology and a Master’s Degree in Methodology for Research and Development of New Therapies.

Dr Citarella consults on all general dermatology in both adults and children, and will treat conditions such as acne, eczema, allergy and psoriasis. His special interests include skin cancer, moles mapping and autoimmune conditions.
